My class worked at the Living Art Museum (Nýlistasafnið) for three weeks under supervision by our professor Goddur. We studied the inventory and recorded the assets and at the end we put up an exhibition at the museum with a collection of posters. Each class member was assigned to create a poster for the exhibition which captured the spirit of the work we had studied. The exhibition displayed very provocative and raw pieces which I wanted to emphasize with my version of this famous Leonardo da Vinci painting of Mona Lisa. Hinting with this altered 16th century portrait that this museum is a unique place to produce and experience contemporary art.
